Built in 1910 as the Cotton Theatre, the theatre has been a haven and gathering place for thousands of people over many years. In 1923 Merle Blair took over the management of the theatre, changed the name to the Regent and ushered in an era of motion pictures. Eventually the Blair Family, though the generosity of long time manager Gene Blair and his wife Shirley, made a gift of the building, along with the Beck Trust, to the Cedar Falls Community Theatre (CFCT). After a successful Restore The Regent Campaign in the early 1990's, the theatre re-opened its doors as the new home of the CFCT. The CFCT invites you to join this great tradition by leaving a legacy and joining the CFCT Endowment Club.

The CFCT started an Endowment campaign in 2002 with the help of Carolyn Hamrock and Vision Development. Three "Lead Gifts" came from the Adele Davis Estate, Randall & Helen Bebb Estate, and Doris & Ron Juhl.

The Endowment stands at $316,000 and it needs to continue to grow to cover some critical capital improvement needs in the near future. The buildingĀ turned 100 years old in June, 2010 and continuous maintenance is required to keep a quality atmosphere. The board of directors has been a great steward to the building and accomplished many things in the last decade that included: refurbished the seats, replaced all windows and window casings in the 2nd & 3rd floors, insulated the backstage walls, replaced all five north side doors, built an orchestra pit, renovated the third floor Deery Reception & Meeting Room, and other projects.

By making an outright gift or planned commitment, you will become a member of the CFCT Endowment Club. Gifts can be made in a variety of ways Including:
